Context of Aymara
Aymara er en urbefolkningsgruppe som lever i Andesregionen i Sør-Amerika. Om lag 1,6 millioner bor i Bolivia, Peru nord i Chile, samt i Argentina. I dag lever de fleste aymaraene i området rundt Titicacasjøen. Byen El Alto er et viktig senter for aymarene. Over to millioner aymaraer snakker språket aymara.
Tidligere president Evo Morales i Bolivia er aymara og Bolivias første statsleder fra urbefolkningen.
